Hello there, :D
My name is Kelly, I waste my life playing pool, listening to music, smoking hookah, and browsing tumblr, I'd love to get to know you, so ask me a question and let's start a conversation! My blog is about 60% Music, 20% funny stuff, 10% personal stuff, and 10% random shit. :D
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
PropertyOfZack is stoked to be premiering a lyric video for a new Carridale song called “Dragging The Coast.” The band’s new EP, The Wandering, will be releasing on May 1st and can be pre-ordered here. Watch the lyric video below by clicking “Read More!”
TSSF, AL4W, Transit, and PBC was awesome.
The Wonder Years:
I’m not considering myself a TWY fan after tonight. They were fucking assholes tonight, and last night. Last night Josh swung at a kid for accidentally hitting his guitar during a stage dive. That was just the beginning, they saved…
The rest of the bands as someone has asked. :)
First up was The Story So Far. I was really excited to see them for the third time. The other shows had been amazing and I was really expecting a lot. I heard it was endless stage dives in San Antonio, and people think Austin shows are much more awesome than everywhere else, but I beg to differ. Parker was moving around, acting like he was actually enjoying being up there, not like the other shows. The crowd was really lame. I know it was the first band, but maybe my expectations were just too high. But they sounded great, and no punches were thrown from the band. :b
Next was A Loss For Words. For some reason, AL4W doesn’t have a great fan base in Austin, which is a shame because they are really good. They always put on a great show and the whole band is oozing with energy. Matty sings his heart out every time. Matty jumped in the crowd with the microphone about 5 songs in the set, and again later on. Of course everyone went crazy for Mt. Saint Joseph, and it was a great performance by them.
Then we have Transit. Transit has a great following last night. So many kids were screaming out the lyrics and having a great time. Transit played some of their older stuff that they admitted, have neglected for a few years. They said they were gonna try something new, and the place went nuts for it. Joe has such an amazing voice, and he sounded exceptional tonight. They were thankful to be there, playing to a room full of fans.
Polar Bear Club- Honestly, I was sitting down on the side when they played. I haven’t kept up with their music, and I was quite tired and it was hot in there. From what I heard and saw, they had a great time. People were moving and getting in to it. The singer was pumped, and was also oozing energy. The place was buzzing with yells and applauses for PBC.
And you already know how TWY was. And I’d like to say that TWY put on a great show, besides all the anger and disrespect. The music was great, and I’ve actually been humming them all day today, but then I remember them being total dicks and I stop myself.
That was just the beginning, they saved their rage for Austin. Again, a kid accidentally knocks over Josh’s mic and he almost threw his guitar down. He went to his amp and slammed his guitar against it while yelling “FUCK” very loudly. The roadie with the 2 inch plugs told their new fat security guard to get anyone that comes close to the equipment, and then followed by a “and I will beat their ass”. A kid wound up on stage after crowd surfing and he jumped right back in to the crowd, but the security guard grabbed him and pulled him back onstage, put him in a choke hold and escorted him off stage. Pushed him down the walkway, the roadie then came over and preceded to yell at him all the way to the door and someone kicked him out. Some girl tried to sing with Soupy and he just looked at her like she was trying to do something weird and shrugged her off. Another guy ended up on stage and the security guard grabbed him and pushed him off stage as well. Someone ended up throwing a beer at the roadie and he got really pissed and punched the wall. They didn’t say thank you to the fans at all. Not even a bye. Some kid called Josh out after the show, and said he was disappointed with the way he was acting. Josh started yelling at him and making a scene. The venue security guards came and everyone was standing around them. Josh was saying how he wasn’t the one to kick the guy out and it was an accident, but how can you get so angry over an accident?
Fuck you guys. Fuck spending money to see you guys or buying merch from you. Don’t even bother coming to Texas again. Hope you treat the rest of your fans better than how you treated us. You lost a lot of fans in the past two days.
So fucking proud of my friends. Jam this fucking song, and send the boys off to the UK in style.
This song is so good! Goddamn! <3
The show tonight was amazing. I mean, we were in a little ass shed. There was a nice breeze. Sing Me To Sleep was so good, as usual. So Many Ways was CRAZY. I mean literally insane. Those guys on stage, I feel like they dropped acid before they played lol. There was so much jumping off stools, and crazy guitars and dance moves. haha. It was great. Can’t wait to see them again tomorrow! The Tired and True was also very good, like always. :D
So this is what I’m thinking for SXSW.

Another amazing show with We Still Dream! Geeeeze, why are they so good? I want them to play over and over. Sing Me To Sleep was also amazing tonight. AMAZING. Callaghan was gewd. I’m so tired. Good night. :)
And then if we don’t succeed
We either keep moving
Or go home to broken dreams
<3 Come back to San Antonio soon!
What a busy weekend I have had. I went home to San Antonio on Friday, went straight to a local metal/hardcore show with Summits, Sonnets, Enastasia, Sin Eater, and Afflictive Nature. Saw a girl get body slammed by some guy. That was funny. Saturday I went to a metal house show with Buried Under Texas, House By The Ditch, and On Track. Shit was cray. I almost died. Sunday, I saw Dr. Acula and Design The Skyline as a joke. DTS was so horrible. lol. Dr. Acula was actually entertaining, although they didn’t play Let’s Get Invisible, which is the only song I know by them. Tonight I saw a little pop punk show. Broadside and Giants At Large were so good. The only thing missing was Major League. :/ Now I’m finally back in Austin, and ready to pass out. :)
“The show opened up with a surprisingly captivating performance from Thieves, a local Austin band. Thieves doesn’t just break the local-Austin-band stereotype; they shatter it. The band’s repertoire contains no cliché hipster tunes, no overdone synth and no pointless, airy jam sessions. Instead the band plays heavy pop-punk with an incredibly gifted guitarist and a singer who’s found the secret behind singing in a higher range without being annoying.
Following Thieves was pop punk outlet The Story So Far. Not nearly as alluring as the show opener…”
Thieves shows are amazing.
